Endodontic

Endodontic treatment is rendered when either the nerve tissue (the pulp) of the tooth is infected or it is an elective treatment provided when we require additional support for a filling or crown by utilizing the space where the nerve was.

Root canal therapy is the process where in the pulp of a tooth is removed and a thermoplastic material, called gutta percha, is placed in the void created by removing the pulp.

The tooth is then built back up from the nerve space to the crown of the tooth. Often crowns are recommend on teeth that have been root canal treated because these teeth are often more brittle and prone to fractures and breaking down.
